ABH hydrochloride is a potent, selective human Arginase inhibitor with Ki of 0.25 uM (pH=7.5), 8.5 nM (pH=9.5) for type II arginase.
ABH hydrochloride inhibits the LPS-induced increases in pulmonary IL-8, neutrophils, and goblet cells as well as airway fibrosis.
ABH hydrochloride prevents LPS-induced right ventricular hypertrophy, indicative of pulmonary hypertension in a guinea pig model of COPD.
