AG-1295 (Tyrphostin AG1295) is a quinoxaline-type tyrphostin that acts as a potent and selective inhibitor of PDGFR kinase in vitro and in Swiss 3T3 cells with IC50 of 0.3-1 uM.
AG-1295 inhibits PDGF-stimulated DNA synthesis with IC50 of 2.5 uM without affecting activity of EGFR.
AG-1295 selectively attenuates smooth muscle cell growth in vitro and reduces neointimal formation after balloon angioplasty in swine.
