AZD6370 (AZD-6370) is a potent, selective and orally active glucokinase (GK) activator with EC50 of 45 nM against human recombinant GK.
AZD6370 increase GK activity in liver and pancreatic beta cells, and lower blood glucose in type 2 diabetics.
AZD6370 (7 days dosing at 400 mg/kg/day, p.o.) significantly lowered fasting blood glucose from 12.5 ± 0.4 mM to 9.1 ± 1.0 mM and achieved a sustained and significantly lower free-feeding blood glucose profile in in male gkwt/del mice.
