Biological Activity

Abbapolin 12 is a nonpeptidic inhibitor of PLK1 polo-box domain (PBD) with IC50 of 26.8 uM in FP assays, inhibits viability in PC3 prostate cancer cells with IC50 of 15 uM.
Abbapolin 12 binds to PLK1 with an EC50 0.65 μM to PLK1 in cellular thermal shift assays.
Abbapolin 12 (0-45 uM) blocks PLK1 phosphorylation of TCTP on Ser46 in asynchronous PC3 cells.
Abbapolin 12 induces PLK1 degradation in prostate cancer cell line DU145.
Abbapolin 12 demonstrate antiproliferative activity in cells that are dramatically resistant to ATP-competitive PLK1 inhibitors.
