Biological Activity

Alisporivir (Debio 025, DEBIO-025) is a non-immunosuppressive cyclophilin inhibitor derived from cyclosporin A (CsA) with IC50 of 30 nM (CypD PPIase activity ), inhibits HCV replication in vitro more potently than CsA.
Alisporivir (Debio 025, DEBIO-025) inhibits HCV subgenomic replicon replication in Huh 5-2 cells (luciferase assay) with EC50 of 0.27 ug/mL.
Alisporivir (Debio 025, DEBIO-025) selectively inhibits the replication of HIV-1 in a CD4+ cell line and in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, interferes with the function of CypA during the progression/completion of HIV-1 reverse transcription.
Alisporivir (Debio 025, DEBIO-025) also blocks SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV replication.
