Apelin receptor agonist MM07 is a potent G-protein-biased peptide agonist of apelin receptor (APLNR, APJ) with KD of 300 nM in CHO-K1 cells and 172 nM in human heart. MM07 (10-100 nM) caused a dose-dependent increase in cardiac output in rats. MM07 preferentially stimulate the G-protein pathway, which could translate to improved efficacy in the clinic by selectively stimulating vasodilatation and inotropic actions but avoiding activating detrimental β-arrestin-dependent pathways.
