BAM7 is a selective Bax activator,, competes with FITC-BIM SAHB for BAX binding with IC50 of 3.3 uM, activates BAX and BAX-dependent cell death.
BAM7 is selective for the BH3-binding site on BAX.
BAM7 triggers in vitro BAX oligomerization, BAX-mediated pore formation and BAX-dependent cell death.
BAM7 induces the biochemical and morphologic features of BAX-mediated apoptosis in Bak−/− MEFs.
BAM7 directly binds the BAX trigger site and initiates the characteristic structural changes that lead to functional BAX activation in vitro.
