BAN ORL 24 is a potent, selective, non-peptide nociceptin/orphanin FQ receptor (NOP receptor, ORL1) antagonist with IC50 of 0.27 nM, displays no significant activity for κ-, μ- and δ-receptors.
BAN ORL 24 produces a concentration-dependent displacement of [(3)H]N/OFQ binding to CHO(hNOP) cell membranes with pKi of 9.62 and selectivity (1000 fold) over classical opioid receptors.
BAN ORL 24 antagonizes the pronociceptive and antinociceptive effects of N/OFQ in vivo.
