BFstatin (175C05) is a small molecule inhibitor of V. vulnificus BrpR with EC50 of 8.01 uM, a transcriptional regulator for biofilm genes.
BFstatin does not interfere with bacterial growth or exhibit cytotoxicity to the human epithelial cell line.
BFstatin interacts with BrpR to inhibit its binding to target promoter DNA.
BFstatin interacts directly with BrpR with MST KD of 7.14 uM.
BFstatin affects the expression of the BrpR regulon.
BFstatin interrupts the development of the biofilm matrix, suppresses the biofilm formation of Vibrio vulnificus.
