Chemical Structure : BNIP3 antagonist peptide B-017
Catalog No.: PC-27103Not For Human Use, Lab Use Only.
B-017 is a mitochondrial protective peptide antagonist of BCL-2/adenovirus E1B 19-kDa interacting protein 3 (BNIP3), binds to both BNIP3 and BAX with KD of 700 nM and 303 nM respectively, preventing the direct activation of BAX and its insertion into mitochondrial outer membrane.

B-017 shows significant protection of the mitochondrial outer membrane (MOM), resulting in reduced levels of inserted BAX compared to mitochondria from wild-type MEFs and MCF-7 cells treated with staurosporine alone.
B-017 markedly inhibits the BAX insertion into the mitochondrial outer membrane (MOM), thereby preventing MOM permeabilisation.
B-017 effectively counteracts staurosporine-impaired cell viability, impedes the processes of apoptosis and necrosis induced by diverse stimuli in various mouse and human cell types.
B-017 has KD values of approximately 1.3 µM for BCL-2 and MCL-1.
B-017 induces protective biological responses in ischaemic C57BL/6 J wild-type mice, reduces tissue damage in the heart, brain, and liver.
