Biological Activity
Bamlanivimab (LY-CoV555) is a potent, recombinant, neutralizing human IgG1 monoclonal antibody (mAb) against the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2, binds to SARS-CoV-2 spike protein RBD and prevents its interaction with ACE2.
LY-CoV555 pretreatment reduces viral replication and load in the lower respiratory tract of rhesus macaques challenged with SARS-CoV-2.
LY-CoV555 displayed high protection potency, supporting its clinical development and testing as a therapeutic for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19.
