Biological Activity
Bcl-3 inhibitor A27 is a specific small molecule inhibitor of proto-oncogene Bcl-3, inhibits Bcl-3-mediated cyclin D1 expression and promoter activity, affects the binding between Bcl-3 and the NF-κB transcription factor p50, without affecting the classical NF-κB activation.
A27 could also reduce cyclin D1 expression at the RNA and protein levels in human and mouse melanoma cell lines without affecting the expression of Bcl-3.
A27 reduces cyclin D1 promoter activity.
A27 reduces cell migration and invasion in melanoma cells.
A27 (25 mg /kg) causes reduced melanoma tumour growth in vivo.
