C-1311 dihydrochloride (Imidacrine, Imidazoacridone) is an imidazoacridinone analogue with potent in vivo antitumour activity, inhibits the catalytic activity of Topoisomerase II.
C-1311 induces p53-dependent senescence or p53-independent apoptosis and sensitizes cancer cells to radiation, also induces autophagy in a non-p53-dependent manner.
C-1311 effectively improves the radiosensitivity of a panel of cancer cell lines.
