Biological Activity
C607-0736 is a specific small molecule inhibitor of outer membrane protein V (OmpV) withSPR KD of 0.15 uM, disrupts the virulence functions of V. cholerae OmpV.
C607-0736 significantly inhibited the adherence ability of V. cholerae WT strain, but not the ΔompV strain.
C607-0736 is a broad-spectrum inhibitor of infection caused by pandemic V. cholerae.
C607-0736 significantly inhibited V. cholerae colonization in the small intestine only at concentrations of 10 and 20 mg/kg.
C607-0736 widely inhibits the colonization ability of different pandemic V. cholerae strains by blocking the function of OmpV, including pandemic V. cholerae O1 strains (EL2382, EL2281, and EL1605) and O139 strains (strains MO45, 0820, and 0539).
