Biological Activity
CBI-3 (Covalent BAX inhibitor 3) is a covalent BAX inhibitor, protects cells from BAX-dependent apoptosis.
CBI-3 covalently derivatized BAX WT in vitro and showed superior potency in inhibiting BAX-mediated apoptosis in HCT116 Bak−/− cells compared to WX-02-16.
CBI-3 also protected primary DRG neurons from ABT-737-induced apoptosis, as reflected by cell viability and caspase-3/7 activation assays.
CBI-3 protects against murine liver failure and human MN degeneration.
CBI-3 protects WT liver and human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPS cell)-derived motor neurons (MNs).
