(S)-YS-49 (YS49) is a small molecule PI3K activator and positive inotropic isoquinoline compound. (S)-YS-49 suppresses iNOS gene expression induced by LPS and/or cytokines in RAVSMC and RAW 264.7 cells at the transcriptional level. (S)-YS-49 inhibits apoptosis in myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) injury in vivo via activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway and by reducing inflammation during I/R.
