CTPB is an anacardic acid derivative, was reported as a selective activator of p300 (KAT3B) HAT activity but not PCAF (KAT2B), which enhanced HAT-dependent transcriptional activation.
CTPB has no effect on histone deacetylase activity.
CTPB promotes the survival and neurite growth of the SH-SY5Y cells, and also protects these cells from cell death induced by the neurotoxin 6-hydroxydopamine.
