DR-1-55 (DR-155) is a selective STAT3 inhibitor that covalently modifies a cysteine in the SH2 domain of STAT3.
DR-1-55 reduced the expression of the STAT3 target gene MMP2, also reduced expression of ERBB2 and ERBB3 in devil facial tumor disease (DFTD) cells.
DR-1-55 (10 mg/kg) reduced tumor growth without observed toxicity in xenograft model of DFTD tumor, reduction of pY STAT3 (Figures 5D and 5E) and reduced MMP2 expression, increased the expression of B2M, while STAT3 expression was decreased.
