DYT-40 is a small molecule inhibitor of Astrocyte elevated gene-1 (AEG-1) expression and NF-κB nuclear translocation, blocks malignant glioblastoma growth and invasion by inhibiting AEG-1 and NF-κB signaling pathways.
DYT-40 inhibited the proliferation of malignant glioblastoma cells.
DYT-40 induced apoptosis in U251 and U87 cells. DYT-40 inhibited epithelial-mesenchymal transition and invasion of U251 and U87 cells.
DYT-40 suppressed AEG-1/NF-κB, PI3K/AKT and MAPK pathways, decreased the phosphorylation of AKT, and ERK kinase.
DYT-40 (5, 10 and 20 mg/kg) reduced tumor volume and induced apoptotic cell death in the rat glioma model.
