DnaK inhibitor M7 is a small molecule inhibitor of bacterial Hsp70 protein DnaK ATPase, inhibits DnaK-mediated ATP hydrolysis with IC50 of 8.4 uM, likely engages the substrate-binding pocket of DnaK, induces accumulation of σ-32 without affecting protein translation, effectively inhibits the growth of E. coli AS19 and some Gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus.
