Biological Activity
EU1180-438 is potent, selective GluN1/GluN3 receptor negative allosteric modulator (NAM) / antagonist with IC50 of 3.5 uM, highly selective over GluN1/GluN2 NMDA receptors, AMPA, and kainate receptors.
EU1180-438 is also inactive at GABA, glycine, and P2X receptors, but displays inhibition of some nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.
EU1180-438 inhibits neuronal responses mediated by GluN3A-containing receptors.
EU1180-438 can inhibit GluN1/GluN3A responses during activity-dependent or ischemia-dependent changes in extracellular pH.
EU1180-438 activity is independent of membrane potential and agonist concentration.
