Eliprodil inhibits [3H]norepinephrine release from cortical and hippocampal slices but enhances the basal efflux of endogenous and tritiated dopamine from striatal slices.
Eliprodil also blocks the uptake of [3H]dopamine into striatal synaptosomes with IC50 of 1.5 uM.
Eliprodil reduces the volume of infarction in models of focal cerebral ischemia.
