Biological Activity

FASN inhibitor C75 is a synthetic, slow-binding inhibitor of mammalian fatty acid synthesis (FASN, FAS), binds to and inhibits mammalian FAS and inhibits fatty acid synthesis in human cancer cells (SKBR3 cells ID50=5.0 ug/mL).
FASN inhibitor C75 causes changes in peripheral tissues, including inhibition of hepatic fatty acid synthesis, reduction of fatty liver, diminished adipose tissue mass, and high levels of malonyl-CoA.
FASN inhibitor C75 reduces food consumption and increases both fatty acid oxidation and energy expenditure in DIO mice.
FASN inhibitor C75 also sensitizes the efficacy of radiotherapy of prostate carcinoma.
