Biological Activity
FC-531 is a highly potent carbonic anhydrase (CA) inhibitor with Ki values of 6.2 nM and 2.3 nM for the transmembrane and tumor-associated isoforms CA IX and CA XII.
FC-531 shows remarkable efficacy in inhibiting the hCA I isoform with Ki of 9.4 nM, has limited affinity for hCA II (Ki >1000 nM).
FC-531 significantly triggers apoptotic cell death on prototypic triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) and melanoma cells.
FC-531 displays a higher anti-tumor effect in comparison with SLC-0111.
FC-531 (50 mg/kg) reduces tumor growth and metastatization in NOD/SCID mice to obtain lung metastasis.
