Biological Activity

FXII900 is a potent, selective cyclic peptide coagulation factor XII (FXII) inhibitor with Ki of 0.37 nM and 0.45 nM for human and mouse FXIIa, >100,000-fold selectivity over other plasma proteases.
FXII900 prolongs activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) in human plasma with an EC1.5x of 0.79  uM, does not affect prothrombin time (PT).
FXII900 prolongs the aPTT in plasma of all other species, namely mouse (EC1.5x = 2.9 μM), rabbit (EC1.5x = 0.102 μM), and pig (EC1.5x = 12.2 μM), wherein the potency varied significantly.
FXII900 inhibits ferric chloride-induced thrombosis in mice.
