Lanopepden (GSK1322322) is a novel antibacterial agent that targets bacterial peptide deformylase (PDF), inhibits PDF activity and prevents bacterial protein synthesis.
Lanopepden (GSK1322322) demonstrates in vitro activity against MDR respiratory and skin infection pathogens, including MDR Streptococcus pneumoniae and MRSA.
Lanopepden (GSK1322322) inhibits S. pneumoniae ATCC 49619 with MIC of 0.12-0.5 ug/mL.
