    Biological Activity

    GTS511 (GTS-511) is a potent, selective, brain-permeable activator of EAAT2 with EC50 of 3.8 nM in vitro glutamate uptake assays in COS cells overexpressing EAAT2.
    GTS511 show a >6 h half-life and higher bioavailability in plasma and the brain under all three routes of administration in rats (intraperitoneal, IP, at 10 mg/kg; postoral, PO, at 10 mg/kg; and intravenous, IV, at 5 mg/kg).
