Gallotannin (Tannic acid, Gallotannic acid) is a potent PARG (poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase) inhibitor that produces significant reductions in H2O2-induced cell death in cultured murine astrocytes.
Gallotannin (Tannic acid, Tannin) prevents PARP1-mediated cell death by slowing the turnover of poly(ADP-ribose) and thus slowing NAD(+) consumption.
Gallotannin (Tannic acid, Tannin) increases endogenous DNA damage, stalls replication forks and increases homologous recombination.
