Biological Activity
HT-7 is a specific, heterocyclic HIV-1 inhibitor inhibits viral release by inducing cell surface bone marrow stromal antigen 2 (BST2)/Tetherin/CD317/HM1.24, increases cell surface BST2 coupled with HIV-1 release reduction in Jurkat cells but not Jurkat/KO-BST2 cells.
HT-7 does not regulate the cell surface expression of PSGL-1.
HT-7 reduces the viral release by canceling the effects of Vpu, thereby retaining BST2 on the cell surface.
HT-7 inhibits the release of SIVmac239 and SARS-CoV-2 by induction of BST2 on the cell surface.
