INP0010 is a small-molecular inhibitor of bacterial virulence factor, inhibits type III secretion system (T3SS), prevents virulence factor-mediated replication of S. Typhimurium in macrophage-like RAW264.7 cells. INP0010 enhances expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), nitric oxide (NO) production, the oxidative burst and tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα) release in infected RAW264.7 cells. INP0010 also inhibits virulence-associated Salmonella pathogenicity island 2 (SPI2) activity in RAW264.7 cells. INP0010 significantly attenuates the virulence of S. Typhimurium in Caenorhabditis elegans.
