Biological Activity

Ibodutant (MEN-15596) is a potent and selective linear tachykinin NK2 receptor antagonist with pKb of 9.3.
Ibodutant (MEN-15596) displays >1,000-fold selectivity over NK1 and NK3 (pKb<6).
Ibodutant (MEN-15596) induces a concentration-dependent rightward shift of the [βAla(8)]NKA(4-10) concentration-response curves without depressing the maximal contractile effect (3-100 nM).
Ibodutant (MEN-15596) shows good in vivo activity after intravenous, intraduodenal, and oral administration in guinea pigs.
