Kartogenin (KGN)

Catalog No.: PC-26809Not For Human Use, Lab Use Only.

Kartogenin (KGN) is a small molecule stimulator of collagen synthesis of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), binds filamin A and disrupts its interaction with the transcription factor core-binding factor β subunit (CBFβ), and induces chondrogenesis by regulating the CBFβ-RUNX1 transcriptional program promotes chondrocyte differentiation with EC50 of 100 nM.

Biological Activity

Kartogenin (KGN) is a small molecule stimulator of collagen synthesis of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), binds filamin A and disrupts its interaction with the transcription factor core-binding factor β subunit (CBFβ), and induces chondrogenesis by regulating the CBFβ-RUNX1 transcriptional program promotes chondrocyte differentiation with EC50 of 100 nM.
Kartogenin (KGN) shows chondroprotective effects in vitro and in osteoarthritis (OA) animal models.
Kartogenin (KGN) stimulate collagen synthesis of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs).
Kartogenin (KGN) also is a potent stimulator of limb skeletal growth, facilitates joint formation by promoting interzone compaction and lubricin/Prg4 expression, and stimulates the activity of key signaling factors, including TGFβ superfamily members.
