L-054,264 is a potent, selective non-peptide human somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (sst2) agonist with Ki of 1.6 nM, >1000-fold selective over other somatostatin receptor subtypes. L-054,264 shows full agonism on sst2 in the inhibition of forskolin-stimulated accumulation of cAMP with an IC50 of 2 nM. L-054,264 also inhibits the release of growth hormone in the rat pituitary assay with IC50 of 6 nM.
