Linoleamide is an endogenous lipid which is structurally related to sphingosine and sphiganine and closely related with sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+‐ATPase (SERCA) activity, increases cytosolic Ca2+ levels in MDCK with EC50 of 20 uM.
Linoleamide has been shown to induce sleep in cats, rats and humans.
Linoleamide inhibits Ca2+-ATPase activity of each SERCA with IC50 of 15-53 uM.
