Biological Activity
ML233 is a small molecule apelin receptor (APJ, APLNR)) agonist, also is a potent inhibitor of tyrosinase (TYR) activity in vivo and in vitro.
ML233 shows protective effect against retinal neuronal cell death induced by the intravitreal injection of NMDA into mice.
ML233 prevented the NMDA-induced reduction in the amplitude of scotopic threshold responses (STR).
ML233 inhibited the NMDA-induced loss of retinal ganglion cells and amacrine cells.
ML233 increased the phosphorylation of Akt, a potent anti-apoptotic protein in neurons, in the retina.
ML233 inhibited ME1154B viability/proliferation (IC50 = 1.65 μM).
ML233 inhibit proliferation of human metastatic melanoma in PDXO in vitro models.
