ML308 (ML 308) is a potent, selective inhibitor of two-pore domain potassium channel KCNK9 (TASK-3, K2P9.1) with IC50 of 130 nM in thallium influx fluorescent assays and 413 nM in automated electrophysiology assays, respectively.
ML308 displays >50-fold selectivity over the closely-related, two-pore domain potassium channel, KCNK3, in fluorescent assays and displays little or no activity at 10 μM for Kir2.1, KCNQ2, and human ether-a go-go-related gene (HERG).
ML308 is a useful pharmacological probe for in vitro studies of KCNK9 function.
