MNK inhibitor EB1 is potent inhibitor of inhibitor of MNK with IC50 of 0.69 uM (MNK1) and 9.4 uM (MNK2), most likely binds to the allosteric binding side adjacent to the ATP binding pocket. EB1 selectively inhibits the growth of cancer cells, but not normal cells. EB1 also increases cell apoptosis and suppresses eIF4E phosphorylation.
