MU1409 is a specific small molecule inhibitor of MRE11 nuclease with IC50 of 12.1 uM, inhibits MRE11-RAD50-NBS1 (MRN)-dependent homologous recombination.
MU1409 inhibits MRE11 nuclease more specifically and effectively than mirin.
MU1409 shows good selectivity against MUS81 and EXO1, but not FEN1(IC50=24 uM) in in vitro nuclease activity assays.
MU1409 is significantly more effective at inhibiting exonuclease activity of MRE11 compared to mirin analog PFM01 with IC50 of 3.3 uM and 36.9 uM respective, in in vitro gel-based assays.
MU1409 has minimal effects on the cell cycle.
MU1409 blocks MRE11 nuclease and affect DNA repair in cells.
