Biological Activity

Menaquinone-7 (Vitamin K2, MK-7) is a highly preferred form of vitamin K2 with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, attenuates RSL3-induced lipid peroxidation, ferroptosis, and NF-κB-dependent inflammatory activation. Menaquinone-7 inhibits osteoclast bone resorption in vitro and stimulates bone formation in femoral tissue of aged female rats.
Menaquinone-7 is also a pharmacological option for activating Gla matrix protein and intervening in the progression of calcific aortic stenosis (CAVS).
Menaquinone-7 also is a cytoprotective agent in ovarian ischemia-reperfusion.
