Biological Activity

Mevastatin (Compactin, ML-236B) is a hypolipidemic agentt that inhibits HMGCR (HMG-CoA reductase).
Mevastatin (ML236B) inhibits isoprenoid biosynthesis, blocks protein isoprenylation and reduces plasma cholesterol level.
Mevastatin (ML236B) also blcoks autolysosome maturation, stimulates LBH589-induced cell death in TNBC cells.
