Necrostatin-1 (Nec-1) is a potent, specific and BBB-permeable necroptosis inhibitor with EC50 of 490 nM in Jurkat cells, selectively and allosterically inhibits RIP1 kinase (RIPK-1) with EC50 of 182 nM.
Necrostatin-1 is a micromolar inhibitor of indolamine 2,3-deoxygenase (IDO) with EC50 = 11.4 μM in a cell-based assay.
Necrostatin-1 protects against glutamate-induced glutathione depletion and caspase-independent cell death in HT-22 cells.
