Biological Activity

OPB-31121 (OPB31121) is a novel STAT3 inhibitor (IC50=18.7 nM, Kd=10 nM) that strongly inhibits STAT3 and STAT5 phosphorylation without upstream kinase inhibition.
OPB-31121 induces significant growth inhibition in various hematopoietic malignant cells, particularly effective against multiple myeloma, Burkitt lymphoma and leukemia harboring BCR-ABL, FLT3/ITD and JAK2 V617F, oncokinases with their oncogenicities dependent on STAT3/5.
