ORM-10962 is a potent, highly selective sodium-calcium exchanger (NCX) inhibitor, significantly reduces inward/outward NCX currents with IC50 of 55 and 67 nM, respectively。
ORM-10962 does not modify significantly the magnitude of ICaL in cardiac myocytes, as well as the inward rectifier, transient outward, IKs, the late and peak sodium and Na+/K+ pump currents。
ORM-10962 can exert positive as well as negative inotropic effect depending on the actual operation mode of NCX.
