PST3093 (PST 3093) is the main Istaroxime metabolite and a selective SERCA2a activator, reduces the SERCA2a KdCa value by about 20% at 100 nM.
PST3093 shows a longer half-life in human circulation compared with parent drug Istaroxime.
PST3093 did not inhibit the Na+/K+ ATPase activity up to 100 µM, and no INaK inhibition.
PST3093 and istaroxime equally stimulated SERCA2a ATPase activity in preparations including PLN.
PST3093 selectively activates SERCA2a, and improves cardiac performance in a model of diabetic cardiomyopathy.
