Biological Activity
PTX-BD10-2 (BD10-2) is a selective, brain-penetrant small molecule TrkB/C receptor partial agonist, shows survival-promoting activity.
PTX-BD10-2 (BD10-2) promotes survival of 3T3-TrkB and 3T3-TrkC cells in a dose-dependent manner, but has no effect on survival of TrkA- or p75-expressing 3T3 cells.
PTX-BD10-2 (BD10-2) reverses cholinergic neuron atrophy associated with pathological tau (AT8 antibody) in late-stage APPL/S mice.
PTX-BD10-2 (BD10-2) prevents aberrant AKT, CaMKII, and GLUA1 phosphorylation, and enhances activity-dependent recruitment of synaptic proteins.
PTX-BD10-2 (BD10-2) significantly reduces memory and LTP impairments, as well as synaptic- and neurotrophin-related signaling deficits in APPL/S mice.
PTX-BD10-2 (BD10-2) also has potentially favorable effects on LTP-dependent complement pathway and synaptic gene transcription.
