Biological Activity

Pristimerin is a potent and reversible monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL, MGL) inhibitor with IC50 of 93 nM (purified MGL).
Pristimerin inhibits non-purified MGL (cell lysates of MGL-transfected HeLa cells) with IC50 of 398 nM.
Pristimerin inhibits MGL through a mechanism that is rapid, reversible and non-competitive, shows reversible interaction with Cys208 of MAGL.
Pristimerin protects 2-AG from degradation in intact rat brain neurons.
Pristimerin also potently inhibits 2-AG-hydrolyzing enzyme, ABHD6, with IC50 of 98 nM.
