QNZ46 is a noncompetitive antagonist of NMDA receptor, selectively inhibits GluN2C/D-containing receptors with IC50 of 3.2/3.9 uM, repectively.
QNZ46 inhibits NMDA receptor function in a noncompetitive and voltage-independent manner by an unconventional mechanism that requires binding of glutamate to the GluN2 subunit, but not glycine binding to the GluN1 subunit.|
QNZ46 also prolongs deactivation of responses to the partial agonist NMDA in the continuous presence of glycine, prolongs receptor deactivation time.
