Raltegravir potassium salt (MK-0518) is a potent, selective, orally bioavailable HIV-integrase inhibitor with IC50 of 15 nM.
Raltegravir essentially inactive (IC50s>50 uM) against HCV Pol, HIV RT, HIV RNase-H, and human α/β/γ Pol.
Raltegravir shows inhibitory activity against the wild type virus and a selection of mutants.
Raltegravir is the first HIV-integrase inhibitor for the treatment of HIV-1 infection.
