Rivipansel sodium (GMI-1070, PF-06460031) predominantly inhibits E-selectin-mediated adhesion and dramatically inhibits sRBC-leukocyte interactions, leading to improved microcirculatory blood flow and improved survival.
Rivipansel sodium (GMI-1070, PF-06460031) is a valuable novel therapeutic intervention for acute sickle cell crises.
