Biological Activity

RyR2 inhibitor EL20 is a potent antiarrhythmic compound, potently inhibits abnormal Ca2+ release in RyR2 R176Q myocytes with IC50 of 35.4 nM.
EL20 inhibits single-channel activity of purified RyR2 occurs in RyR2 R176Q myocytes with IC50 of 8.2 nM.
EL20 (2.5 µg/kg, i.p.) suppresses the induction of ventricular tachycardia (VT) in R176Q mice.
EL20 only inhibited RyR2 single-channels in the absence of the stabilizing protein calmodulin.
